Each year in Digne, 10 to 15,000 people take part in the event every day!
Access is free and open, it is a popular festival accessible to all which will celebrate in this year its 75th anniversary. It is also one of the most important events of the Provence Alpes Cote d’Azur region.
The Corso was born at the beginning of the XXth century, the first edition aims to enhance the little blue flower, and the “lavender purse” which makes Digne les Bains, its capital.
The Lavender Corso, in its current form, was born in 1929; interrupted by the Second World War, it was from 1946 that the demonstration became regular over time. Each year, the Corso punctuates the life of the prefecture of the Alpes de Haute Provence.
International groups, day and night parades with illuminated floats, fireworks, funfair, popular balls will be there, not to mention the famous “Lavender Tattoo” (10th International Marching Band Festival).
Also note that Digne les Bains also hosts in August, the Lavender Fair, a large outdoor exhibition fair in the city, this year the 100th edition!
