Epic Enabled – South Africa
Epic Enabled – South Africa
Epic Enabled specializes in accessible safari and tours in South Africa for able and disabled travelers alike. disABLED TRAVEL for everybody!
Sabine shares their story
Epic Expeditions was founded by Alfie Smith in 1992 as an overland company. Sabine Smith visited South Africa in 1993 and never wanted to leave again. She fell in love with the people and country and joined Alfie & Epic in 1994.
We have seen very few ‘enabled’ travelers enjoying the wide range of pleasures as an ‘overlander’. Being aware that there are many ‘enabled’ people who are able and wish to experience the same sense of adventure and thrill which ‘overlanding’ has to offer, the concept of Epic Enabled was born (2001).
Epic Enabled is based in Cape Town and has a beautifully designed fully accessible Guest House in Noordhoek, established in 2010. Our Epic Guest House provides the perfect getaway opportunity for a holiday in Cape Town either before, after or independently of our Kruger Safaris.
We specialize in accessible safari & tours for able & disabled travelers alike. Everybody is welcome and you are from all walks of life, nationalities, individuals, families, friends and groups. On our ‘once of a lifetime’ tours you experience first-hand the amazing wildlife, stunning scenery, friendly local cultures, traditional specialties, interesting sounds and picturesque sunsets.
Who are we? Meet Alfie and Sabine
Alfie is the founder, back bone and owner of Epic Enabled and leads all our tours. He is highly trained, motivated and experienced in leadership and group dynamics. He combines an extensive knowledge of local conditions, wildlife, vehicles and mechanical expertise along with a passion for overland safari travel.
Traveling: it’s a passion and lifestyle
“You are in safe hands with Alfie,” says Sabine. “He is a qualified diesel mechanic (can fix just about anything in the bush 😉), an experienced traveler from driving a double decker bus in London, overlanding all over South America, crossing Africa… multiple times… to accessible safaris in South Africa, his experiences and stories are an incredible addition around the campfire.”
Sabine runs the office. Born in Switzerland, she also speaks fluent German.
She has traveled extensively in Europe before calling South Africa her new home in 1994.
Sabine used to run tours in Southern Africa for over nine years before taking over the office administration of Epic Enabled.
“Alfie and I (Sabine) will try our best to exceed your wildest dreams and make your African holiday a positive memory of an adventure of a life time!“
