Kiwi Rail – Great journeys of New Zealand

We are pleased to make our great New Zealand tourism experiences welcoming, comfortable and safe for as many people as possible.

Scenic trains are a great way to relax and see the nation.  Each train service has two designated wheelchair spaces available in the café carriage. We also have an accessibility lift fitted to assist passengers on and off the carriages. Also in the café carriage is an accessible toilet as well as a hearing loop.

Interislander ferries have gangway access, so whether you have a walking stick or baby buggy, getting aboard is easy.  Mobility carts are also available in each terminal and our staff are on standby to assist; please just ask.  Each ferry has different accessibility characteristics and we recommend that you find out more on the ferry pages for KaitakiAratere and Kaiarahi
